DOB: 1968
Interests: Films, comedy

Born on January 9th, 1968 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, Liliana Paolinelli has been filming since 1990, shorts and medium films with which she gained local recognition. With her short ¡Motín! she broke into the international film festival ciruit in 1999.

She studied film at the National University of Córdoba where she still works today as a production technician in audiovisual media in the film department. Also she directs full length movies since 2008, the year she released her opera prima With Proper Eyes which was nationally quite successful.

As a fan of female comics from American TV series and Hollywood cinema, she tends to incorporate comedic elements to tell her characters’ stories, all of whom are women from her native province, Córdoba, which is always a common element in her films. Also lesbian sexuality and its sometimes sentimental crises are key themes in a Paolinelli film. Her last two movies, Lengua materna (2010) and Amar es bendito (2013) are perfect examples of her style.
