LEARNING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that memory is a funny skill that fails us when we need it the most. I am also convinced that emotion is a deep personal feeling that connects us to people, things, and experiences, and stays with us forever. For example, I remember a podcast I heard a few years ago that said, “the goal of education is learning, not teaching.” Unfortunately, my memory does not recall where I heard it or who recorded it. However, the sentence stuck in my mind not only because I agreed with it profoundly, but also because every time I repeated it to myself at the beginning of a class, I ended up having a great feeling of accomplishment at the end of the class period.
